Catering Assistant
Harplands Hospital, Stoke - On - Stoke, ST4 6TH
Full Time, Monday - Friday 0830 to 1500 hours.
Salary: £23,615.00 plus company benefits

To provide a high-quality food service as part of a team to both patients, staff and clients of the Hospital. Ensuring food service to patients and other customers throughout the hospital are served in a professional manner using the special menus as set by the dieticians and catering user group.
Main Accountabilities:
- Provide and carry out general catering duties and tasks in an effective and efficient manner and in accordance with "best practice" procedures.
- Ensuring that all meals are prepared presented and served correctly to patients in wards following set procedures and standards, liaising with nursing staff.
- Ensure a high standard of both personal hygiene and food handling practices are adhered to.
- Preparing meals for delivery to wards with correct dishes as ordered.
- Disassembling meals from wards and general wash up.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are used following the correct procedures, which includes "clean as you go" and COSHH.
- Ensure the presentation of food is always attractive and to a high standard of service and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all work schedules are fully implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
- Undertake duties in a safe manner, according to 'Food Safety Management System' and ensure that equipment is used and maintained in an appropriate manner.
- Ensure all equipment is checked beforehand, used correctly, cleaned and stored away after use. All mechanical, electrical & physical faults on equipment should be reported.
- Work as part of a team to provide a quality catering service around the hospital site in a friendly and purposeful manner.
- Attend training courses both in- company and elsewhere to meet and enhance the service of the Department.
- Always ensure a clean and tidy appearance.
- Follow cash handling procedures.
- Co-operate fully in ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
