Serco has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales and Business Development to join the team at International Fire Training Centre (IFTC). This role will be responsible for international and domestic business development activity of the IFTC and broader Serco fire propositions.
Reporting to the Director of Fire Capability and working closely with the Head of Business and Delivery and Head of Consultancy Services this role will focus on proactively building new opportunities to grow the domestic and international business.

Main accountabilities:

- To work as part of th Serco Fire Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to support the delivery of IFTC's and Serco Fires strategic objectives.
- To design and deliver a sales and business development plan in accordance with Serco Fires Strategy and Serco Management System policies and processes.
- To work effectively with the Head of Business and delivery and Head of Consultancy Services and follow the SMS and local governance and ethics procedures.
- To provide insight into customer needs to support the design and development of new products and services.
- To maintain the Serco CRM in accordance with the appropriate SMS-GSOP, providing regular reporting and analysis on all business development activities as appropriate.
- To identify business development-related risks and ensure they are captured and mitigated where possible.
- Provide line management and oversight of the Sector relationship manager.
What you'll need to do the role:

- Degree level education (post graduate level preferred) or equivalent experience in relevant resilience disciplines.
- Knowledge and experience of working in domestic and international markets at a senior level operating within a dynamic, complex, competitive, and commercial environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of UK and global Fire legislation, Fire capabilities including national and international standards, policies and guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver high level, formal presentations with confidence.
- Commercial acumen with an entrepreneurial ethos and innovative approach.
- Ability and experience to build effective customer relationships and partnerships with stakeholders.
- Flexible to travel to other contracts in the UK and overseas.
- Able to pass a DBS check
