Project Manager - Delivering Excellence in Billable Works

 

Are you a skilled and detail-oriented professional passionate about delivering high-quality projects? As a Project Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of Billable Works, ensuring compliance with Government regulations, statutory requirements, and internal health, safety, and environmental standards.

 

You will monitor Supply Chain work teams, ensuring qualified operatives are assigned to tasks to achieve safe working, timely delivery, and the required quality, consistently meeting performance indicators. Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements will be a core part of your role, ensuring these meet acceptable standards. Regular collaboration with local Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) representatives, Customer Service Representatives, and Site Managers will be essential to agree on scopes, priorities, and delivery schedules for Billable Works.

 

In this role, you will oversee task progress through the Maximo system, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and distributed promptly, including updates to the SharePoint system. You will support end users and management by providing optimal solutions to customer requirements, helping to resolve issues effectively and contributing to the Ministry of Defence's carbon reduction targets.

 

You will also play a vital role in cost management, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation. Your strong leadership and decision-making abilities will guide your team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain Safe Systems of Work, and meet changing operational needs.

 

This position requires demonstrable experience in supervising project management staff, including leading operational teams, stakeholder management, cost control, and planning. You should also have experience in directing site operations, setting priorities, and driving proactive performance management. Problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, alongside the ability to adapt to challenges.

 

 

What You Need To Do The Job

 

To excel in this role, you should possess an HND-level qualification in Building, Civil Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or have equivalent experience. A management-level qualification in Health & Safety and Environment (e.g., SMSTS) and a commitment to Continuing Professional Development are required. Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Excel and Word, will further support your success in this position.
